 A very important part of the Alkaline Lifestyle is managing stress.  Lowering stress reduces the acidic environment in the body.  When you are happy, breathing deeply, and focusing on what you are grateful for, you are guaranteed to feel better.  What can get in the way of your happiness?  Procrastination!!!

Last year I completed a Yoga certification program for Kundalini Yoga.  It was a transformational experience and it required me to take action on a daily basis to finish the homework assignments while working and tending to other areas of my life.  Kundalini Yoga is referred to as a technology for Happiness.  I guess that is why I was so drawn to it.  There were some principles that we were encouraged to apply to life. The one I want to share states:

"When the time is upon you, start, and the pressure will be off" - Yogi Bhajan

I have applied this consistently for the past 8 months and have loved the way I feel.  When something needs to get done I just take the time to get it done.  Simple as that.  I feel instant pressure released and it motivates me to keep the momentum going. It can be simple things like taking out the garbage, opening and addressing your mail, or folding clothes.  Or, you may have some bigger areas of your life to tend to that require you to make time to organize the tasks and find a place to start.  Bigger tasks are completed much easier when broken down.  If the goal is getting into improved physical shape then sit down and figure out your exercise plan, commit to times during the week when you exercise!  If you have been putting off increasing your water intake, fill up the desired amount of Ionized Alkaline Mineral you want to drink then check the bottle each hour and make sure it is going down as the day goes on.  As you tend to your life and what needs to be done consistently, you avoid build ups of feeling overwhelmed.  "Inch by inch, everything is a cinch!"

I encourage you to avoid being all talk and no action. This will catch up to you and has negative consequences.  There is some wonderful energy generated in the month of January for creating change.  What have you been putting off?  Take a deep breath and get up and tend to it.
