Hormone Balancing Protein Drink

Although anyone can enjoy this delicious drink, it was specially created to nurture women going through peri menopause and menopause.  Christiane Northrup, M.D. in her book The Widsom of Menopause suggests consuming flax seed (for Omega 3’s), non-GMO Soy, and Maca powder to help with all the hormonal changes going on in a woman’s body.  She supports a diet free from refined sugar, low in carbs, and high in protein for women going through the change of life.  This recipe is diabetic friendly and gluten free.  I know there is a lot of controversy about consuming soy products so listen to your body and substitute your favorite nut milk in place of soy milk if you prefer.  I love this drink after my workout. 

Serves 1

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup organic unsweetened vanilla flavored soy milk
  • 1 scoop Sunwarrior Vanilla Protein Powder
  • 1tbsp. ground flax seed
  • 2 tsp. Maca powder
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. Xyla
  • Big dose of acceptance!  Learn to love the phase of life you are in and accept yourself for who who are right now!!!

Directions:  Blend all ingredients together until smooth.  Consume right away or bottle up and seal to take on the go but make sure to keep it cool.
