Sugar-Free Iced Tea Chai Drink

If you are transitioning from fancy sugar laden coffee shop drinks to more alkalizing treats, this tea is for you!  Take charge of what goes into your body and make modified versions of your favorite drinks at home.  It’s healthier and much cheaper.  This delicious treat is Vegan, gluten-free, sugar-free, and low in carbohydrates.

Ingredients for 1 serving:

  • 1 Chai tea bag – use decaf if you want; you have the control!  I like NUMI organic tea, Golden Chai
  • 1 cup Ionized Alkaline Mineral Water – boiled
  • 1 tablespoon Xyla
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¾ cup unsweetened vanilla flavored almond milk
  • ½ scoop SunWarrior Vanilla flavored Protein powder – optional – makes it a bit more nutritious (it is sugar-free and full of wonderful ingredients)

Directions:  Place chai tea bag in boiled water and steep for 5 minutes.  Set aside and let it cool for 5 more minutes.  Pour chai tea into a blender and add almond milk, xyla, cinnamon, vanilla and protein powder.  Blend for 10 seconds and transfer to a 16 oz glass bottle.  Refrigerate until chilled.  Enjoy!  I love taking this to work for a special treat. You can double or triple the recipe and make a batch for the week!
